Gurgaon, Haryana: Odisha government is all set to double the tourist influx by cashing on the mega religious Nabakalebara festival and international flight connectivity.
The government of Odisha is all set to cash on the international flight connectivity and the revered Nabakalebarra festival to upsurge the growth of tourism in the state. A major decision on implementation of the programme was taken in the meeting of State Tourism Promotion Council at the Secretariat, headed by Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik. During the conference, the Chief Minister has highlighted the work of his government and also pulled up the central government for not doing enough to promote the tourism in the state. In further interaction with the TreavelDuniya.com, The CM said, “My government has been doing enough to make Odisha one of the preferred location in both the domestic and international platform. The minister also said that he was happy to see the upsurge of tourists as the state has witnessed the 12% growth in 2014 as compared to the previous year. Financial assistance to the tourism sector from Central Financial Assistance has been a matter of concern. But it will not hamper the growth of tourism as the state government will provide the necessary financial aid to boost the critical tourism sector. It will also help to upsurge the booking of Odisha holiday packages.
The government is all dedicated to promote the influx of tourists in the state. To achieve the goal, the state government is ready to create a brand image of Odisha Tourism, in domestic and international travel platform. To do this, the government has steep up and appointed various media agencies to promote the Odisha image through electronic, print, travel fairs, cyber media, and road shows.
